Check out the schedules, posted at the right, for study groups beginning spring quarter. Joining a study group early in the quarter gives you the best chance to be successful in your course. Also, check out the Khan Academy link. Khan Academy offers videos explaining math and other subjects, and the videos can be viewed any time you need them!

Don't forget the Learning Success Center has tutors to help GTC students with Education classes. Check the schedules posted outside room 910 (across the hall from the bookstore) for tutor availability. Note: Writing help requires an appointment which can be made by calling 678-226-6653 and leaving your name, the time you wish to come (no more than 2 days ahead), and a call back number in case that time is not available.

Get to campus in plenty of time to park!

There are many changes on campus concerning cars. First is the two-way traffic and new parking in front of building 100. Other significant changes are new stop signs as you enter the parking areas in the back of building 100. Please take care when navigating the parking areas as many students have been caught by surprise by the new traffic patterns!

Campus closed for holiday weekend

The GTC campus will be closed this Saturday, Sunday and Monday for the holiday. Also, with final exams next Tuesday and Wednesday, the computer labs will be closing for the quarter, so check with lab personnel for specific closing dates for the lab you frequent, or check the "Lab Hours" link in the list of links on the right hand side of this page.

Fall quarter classes are getting underway and the Learning Success Center (open Monday, September 28 at 8:00 a.m.) is the place to find help for your academic classes (math, English, psychology, speech, economics, accounting, chemistry and biology). For campus lab hours see the handout on the right side of the page under "Help for GTC Students." Remember, you MUST be wearing a GTC student ID in order to use the computer labs on campus!

Writing Help

The last day for help with writing this quarter is Thursday, September 3. Writing tutors will be back in the Learning Success Center for Fall Quarter on Monday, September 28. Math tutors will continue to be available in the LSC through 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 9.

Summer Quarter

MLA Formatting Changes Information

MLA formatting for research papers changed in 2009. Some instructors may be requiring students to use the new format now, so be sure to ask your instructor which handbook or information to use. If you purchased a reference manual to use in your class, that is the information your instructor will stick to, but it doesn't hurt to confirm this with him/her. Links to the new changes to MLA format are posted under the "Help for English Students" heading of links on the right-hand side of this page.
